The Struggles of Having Glasses

The struggle is real.Smiling Face With Sunglasses on EmojiOne 3.1Smiling Face With Sunglasses on EmojiOne 3.1Smiling Face With Sunglasses on EmojiOne 3.1 <—- I wish I looked that cool wearing my glasses 😂😂😂

Hello, internet wanderers!

I’m writing this because I literally couldn’t think of anything else I am so fed up with the inconvenience my glasses create and have decided to dump my misery on you guys rather than being a logical human bean and finding a solution. Typical me.

I’m sure if you have glasses you have probably experienced these situations before. So here are a few of the struggles that come with glasses:

Literally whenever I sweat, my glasses will just slowly start sliding down my nose. When I’m running or exercising (which I totally do not), my glasses will just slide down my nose no matter how many times I keep pushing them back up. I have legit taped my glasses to my glabella (didn’t just make a Phan reference) before just so that they would stay put. This is seriously annoying, especially during summer.

giphy (1).gif

I swim a lot, recreationally and on swim teams. Both times, not having my glasses on is extremely tiring. When we’re playing games, I can never tell what’s happening. When I’m swimming and have to swim on a certain interval on the clock, I can’t freaking read what time it is because -of course- I dOn’T hAve mY GLASSES ON. I seriously need to get contacts 😂😂😂

Annoying People

It’s hilarious how people think having glasses is fun. Like what part of this whole shebang comes out to you as fun?? Beside the fact that some un-informed people are under some spell that glasses are fun, it really bugs me when they CONSTANTLY keep asking me to wear them. Like trying my glasses every now and then is fine, but when they have them on every 2 minutes or so, it really starts to get annoying 😂😂😂.

Every single time I want to go snuggle with someone or go to bed, my glasses are in the way, pressing into my nose. Every. Single. Time. People are always telling me to live a more spontaneous life, but that’s kind of hard to do when you’re glasses are ALWAYS IN THE WAY. ALWAYS.

Being a freakin’ blind bat

As much as I complain about my glasses, life without them is even more annoying. I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory….

The -occasional- benefits (I repeat, very occasional)

Although glasses can be a real pain, there are some good things. I get to skip eye tests during school, which usually means that I get to read for a 1/2 hour or so. I also remember that when I was 10, I thought I was really cool and had really sweet spy skills because the reflection of things happening behind me would appear on the side of my glasses 😂😂😂. I can assure you that my little brother and I had a great time “spying” on people just because of my glasses =)

giphy (2).gif

And that’s it for today! Next time someone complains about their glasses, hopefully you’ll know why! If you’ve got contacts, are they any better? Please let me know in the comments! ‘Kay bye!

I honestly don’t get it. WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG???????????

Hello, internet wanderers!

Today we’re going to talk about why I don’t count as a functional human bean. Idk why you signed up for this 😂😂😂

I kill plants. Like actually. See, when I’m at school in science and I have to take care of plant by watering it and all that stuff, I do fine. Then I take it home expecting a beautiful, green, healthy plant to keep me company on my desk, but I’m left with a dying blob that kind of resembles an upside-down, skinny, tan octopus. HOW?

I definitely know how to take care of plants since I do fine at school. However, the second my plant gets home it decides to commit suicide. Am I seriously that terrible of a person?!? I get it plant, I’m weird and sleep with a spiderman comforter (it’s incredibly warm) and eat an unreasonable amount of peanut butter, but is it seriously so bad that you feel the need to die on me and make me look like a spiderman-addicted, plant killing monster who only lives off of peanut butter!?!! WHYYY

And there you have it folks. Reasons why I’m a dsyfunctional human bean 😂😂😂 My fellow beans are very disappointed in me….

The Stages of Moving

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (overly enthusiastic much)

Hey guys and today we’re going to be going through Moving 101 *cues sad, dramatic music*

I’ve moved a couple of times before (schools, states, countries) so I feel like I’m in a pretty good position to be writing a freaking tutorial/explanation of how moving works.           So ya here are the different stages of moving! (I need to stop saying “so ya”.  I say it at least once in most of my blog posts ^-^)

Shock: Every time I move, I go through a kind of “what’s happening” phase. More like an OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. I guess that’s panic but I feel like this only happens cause I’m a dramatic person ^-^

Denial: The next stage of moving, I’d say, is denial. I think this is a pretty good thing and if people just denied they were moving the whole time things would turn out a lot better. I think this because if people deny the fact that they’re moving, they can at least enjoy the rest of their time rather than sulking and wasting it. Which leads us to the next phase.

Avoidance (is that a word): When I moved in 5th grade, I went through a phase where I basically started drifting away from my best friends. On purpose. From my side. I did this because I had some incredibly genius idea at the time that if I slowly drifted away from them and just avoided people in general, it would be easier to move. I can assure you that I really regretted doing that during the summer because I realized I had wasted so much of my time and just made the move worse.

Longing: This is the point in time where a person has just said most of their good-byes and realizes that they may never see these people again. Or that it would at least be a while before the next time they met up. This where the sadness and loneliness really starts to set in and the longing for those people starts happening. Your friends still really keep in touch with you.

Dread + Misery: Now the next school year is coming up in a month or so and you really start dreading it. You feel really bad for yourself and just drown in your own self-pity and misery. Your friends still talk to you a lot and constantly text you saying they miss you. This is the part where you binge-watch YouTube for support almost 5 hours a day =)

Eh: The school year has started and-at least for me- it’s not like you hate it or love it here. Your old friends don’t text you as often and you don’t really care about anything anymore. I guess if you didn’t make a few friends at your new school and if your life was miserable there, this stage would be more depressing….

Comfortable: This is around half-way through the new school year. At this point in time, it starts to get a little more comfortable. You and your old friends still text every now and then but it’s always the same routine of going:

“Howz life?” Good. hbu?” “Good” “k ttyl” “k bye”

That was literally the extent of my conversation with most of my old friends, except for a few who I would freak out over Phan with…

Happy: By the end of one school year, I usually feel pretty happy with the not so new place. It comes to a point where I don’t want to move from this new-ish place I’m at. (We usually still end up moving though ^-^. Aaannnd the stages start all over again 😂😂😂)

So ya (see I said it again 😂) hopefully this can help non-movers understand more what it’s like to move as a kid. It’s actually kind of a fun experience because wherever you go you have a “fresh start” and you can make yourself whoever you want to be! It’s also amazing to meet all these new people. Even though you do lose touch with a few of your old friends, the true ones will stay with you forever =). wHy dO I alWaYS HAvE TO BE SO FREAKING CHEESY!!! And also sorry these are always so long 😂 I’m working on it. I swear 😂😂😂

k byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Update: Theme Change??

I just decided to change my theme. Completely.

I’m not sure if I like this or not and I’d kind of like your guys’ help deciding. Please let me know in the comments what you guys think.

Also, in the meanwhile, my GoodReads stuff has been moved. I have my currently reading at the very bottom of the blog, and my read widget in the menu tab. Sorry about the extremely random and inconvenient locations but that’s where that stuff is going to be until I get this sorted out.

This is just a little mini update to figure out what’s happening… Thanks for your help!

Stay Dizzy

Hey guys!

So today I decided to try something different and actually write something meaningful (ish) =)

This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while and the more I think about it the more I realize how true this is. And yes, I promise to try not to make this as sappy as my other posts. (I’ll probably fail but oh well ^-^)

There’s this YouTuber/Instagram Model/ Social Media Influencer who you may or may not know. His name is Tristan Tales. Now this guy is super hilarious, relatable, and genuine. He’s also on Team 10 which is another social media group thing. I’ll put all of these people’s information in the end.

Anyways, he has this phrase that he alway’s ends his videos with and its “Stay Dizzy”. Recently, he explained what this meant to him and I found it pretty interesting. Basically, what he meant by stay dizzy was that type of lifestyle where you have a bunch of new opportunities and motivation. So many that it’s almost like you can barely keep up with what’s happening in life and everything turns kind of unpredictable. It’s like when your dizzy and you can’t really grasp what’s happening. I know that feeling sounds like a nightmare right now, but really, it’s an amazing feeling.

I’ve always hated change, but after my second move, I guess I’ve kind of accepted and looked forward to it. Although it’s not pleasant in the beginning, stepping out of your comfort zone and being unpredictable is something that can really make a person successful. I know I sound super cheesy saying this, but it’s actually true!

For some reason, I just kind of felt the need to share this with people, even if it only reaches a few. If you ever have an opportunity to do something, don’t automatically say no. Give it a chance, even if you don’t like it at first!

Anyways, that’s it for today!

See you later! Stay dizzy!

-Anna ❤

My Insane Reading Problem

I have a serious problem. Like actually.  WHY DO I KEEP DOING THIS TO MYSELF.

Helolo!!! (idk what that greeting was)

As you can probably tell from the title of this blog post I am facing a major, controversial, brain wrecking (is that even a word) issue. I start too many books.

And ya I know you’re probably thinking,  Oh that’s your major, controversial, brain wrecking problem Anna! You just start a few books at once. So what?  That’s what I thought, too, in the beginning. But nooooo. This is much worse than “starting a few books at once”.

You see, I start like 5 books at once on a pretty regular basis and this leads too:

  • Me mixing up characters. I’ll be in the middle of Divergent thinking, “Oh gosh, where did Harry go?”
  • Me mixing up plots. Again, in the middle of Divergent thinking, “I MISS FREDDDD!”
  • Me mixing up practically everything in these books. In the middle of Divergent– wait actually, I think you get the idea =)
  • People being extremely confused by my GoodReads account (I update my GoodReads account pretty regularly so my friends and teachers get pretty confused and bewildered about what I’m reading….)
  • Me being extremely confused by my GoodReads account (I’m generally a relatively confused person. I did not need this irrational habit on me, too.)
  • Having to figure out which book to continue reading. Every. Single. Time. I just want to pull out a book and read. But no. The universe shall not allow that.

I can assure you that I have tried to stop this problem. The problem is that it’s not that simple. I usually bring this catastrophe upon myself because of two things:

a) I get bored with a book. Thing is, I’m the type of person who rarely quits a book in the middle. I will manage to find away to keep reading, and usually that ends up because of lack of choices. When I’m all out of books, I’ll come back to the one I initially neglected and once I finish that book, I have usually enjoyed it. But this process includes starting a lot of other books along the way to stall time until I get back to the first book I started. I guess I’m realizing that I just start procrastinating about that book until I finally have no choice but to read it.

b) I’m too excited. I’ll have brought home a lot of really good books I’ve been anticipating and hoping to read for a while, and my brain can’t figure out which book to start with. It must go into a weird auto-pilot mode or something which would be fine if my brain’s way of dealing with this was choosing through alphabetical order or doing eenie meenie minee moe. Unfortunately though, my brain decides to just start all the books at once. Because that is clearly the most logical solution to my brain’s little tiny panic attack.

Anyways I hope I’m not the only person that this happens to and that we can all combine forces and scream at our brain’s auto-pilot for making extremely irrational choices! =)

The Liebster Award =)

So before I begin I feel the need to say:

a) I know I haven’t wrote a blog post in forever. I may or may not have kind of forgotten it existed ^-^ But I’m back now!

b) I’m still slightly confused about what’s happening in this blog post so forgive me if I mess something up (which I will probably do)

c) I am seriously trying not to make this as cringy as my usual blog posts are 😂

So ya let’s get started as I try not to miserably fail =)

Thank you to Awkward Aris for nominating me for this award-like thing! She writes hilarious blog posts ranting, fangirling, and just talking about life. Not to mention she also writes AMAZING poems! Make sure to check out her blog!!! ❤

Official (I think) Rules for the Liebster Award:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog. Try to include a little promotion for the person who nominated you. They will thank you for it and those who you nominate will also help you out as well.
  2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
  3. Provide 10 random facts about yourself. (Optional but highly recommended!)
  4. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 200 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)
  5. List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here or simply put a link to this post on your blog.) Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
  6. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post or mine if you don’t have all the information so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it)!

10 Random Facts About Me

Here goes nothing =)

  1. I looovvvveeee to read. I think I spend 90% of my free time reading. The other 10% being binge-watching YouTube videos. Of course.
  2. So far, I’ve lived in 3 (extremely different) places. At first, I hated it, but now I love moving!
  3. I enjoy playing violin. Even though it does require your nails to be ridiculously short…
  4. I can’t exactly pick a favorite author since what I read has changed MAJORLY over the past few years or so, but here are some of my all time favorites: John Green, Rainbow Rowell, Jerry Spinelli, Andrew Clements, Veronica Roth, and J.K. Rowling.
  5. I also can’t pick a favorite YouTuber, but some (as in 10) of my favorites are: Daniel Howell (he’ll always be Dani snot on fire to me though 😂), Amazing Phil, Jake Paul, Logan Paul, Ryan Higa, Liza Koshy, and practically everyone on Team 10.
  6. I am currently reading the book Room by Emma Donoghue. Here’s the GoodReads summary of that.
  7. I am a peanut butter fanatic. Quite literally. If there’s anything I don’t want to eat, my go to solution is to cover it in peanut butter so I can’t taste the actual food itself. Thank you, whoever invented peanut butter! I don’t think I would have been physically capable to survive without it 😂.
  8. I am a dog person. I mean, don’t get me wrong, cat’s are great; but I prefer watching cute cat videos on the safety of my computer rather than getting my eyes scratched out by a real cat. Aaannndddd I just offended practically the entire internet. Sorry!
  9. I love swimming! It’s like my safe place. No matter how cold it is outside or what’s happening, I love the feeling of being surrounded by water. I feel like I can do anything as I dive into a pool! The con of swimming though is the chlorine factor. Having unrealistically thick hair, it takes quite an effort to properly wash my hair =)
  10. My favorite emoji is the upside down smiley face thing. I literally just spent 20 minutes scrounging the internet for a copy-paste version of that emoji but I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. AAGGGHHH. #FirstWorldProblems. Instead, here’s my most used emoji:😂 I’ve already used it a few times today….As you can see, it’s very addicting😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. Okay moving on!

The Questions from Aris

  1. Do you like soft and fluffy things? YAAASSSS. I mean, how is it physically possible to not like them?
  2. Do you remember the first book you read? Good Night Moon. It started off as a bedtime story my parents read to me everyday and it turned into an addiction. When I started talking, I memorized the whole book and would flip the pages every now and then so that I was “reading” it =). Eventually, I ended up actually reading it.
  3. How much time do you spend on the internet, on average? I’d say for homework during the school year I spend around 2 hours and then if I have time 1/2 an hour for YouTube and stuff. Now that it’s summer, I try to limit my internet wandering to 2-3 hours a day.
  4. When do you get the time to blog? I really don’t. I think it’s been like a month since my last blog post 😂😂😂 But I guess that’s morely because I can never find anything to write about. I have ideas but everything seems to random/deep/personal. Maybe I should just start ranting about everything…..
  5. If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why? My knowledge on Marvel and superheros and stuff is quite limited so I’m just going to say Superwoman as in the YouTuber. She just seems so confident and inspiring which are 2 qualities I really hope to acquire someday… =)
  6. Would you rather be able to go deep down into the ocean where no man has been before, or would you want to explore outer space? This is kind of contradicting for me because as I mentioned before I love water so going into the ocean would by my initial desiscion. But then if I think about it, the ocean-and this entire Earth in fact-is kind of limiting. I would rather explore outer space because there is waayyy less of a restriction there.
  7. Have you ever wanted to go somewhere just because you saw it in a book/movie/animation? Yes of course! I can’t think of a specific location right this second but I’m sure I’ve seen some character in a place and immediately wished to go there.
  8. If you met a genie, and he offered you three wishes, what would you wish for and why? Alllrrriiiiggghhhhttt. This is tough. I’m going to try not to make this answer 50 pages long =). I would ask for confidence, in myself and in my ability to step out of my comfort zone because really, that’s all that can make you successful. I would also ask that I always stay happy and spread happiness because I don’t see the point in living if you and the environment around you isn’t positive. Lastly, I would ask for an unlimited wifi connection, wherever I am. Cuz why not 😂😂😂
  9. If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Peanut butter jelly sandwiches. For 2 reasons, a) my peanut butter craze which I told you about earlier, and b) I’m always in the mood for peanut butter jelly sandwhiches. It’s kind of hard to go wrong with that ^-^
  10. Pick one: your blog will be super famous when you’re alive, but after your death, no one will care anymore. Or, your blog will be kind of dormant when you’re alive, but after your death, it gets super famous and you’re regarded as a kind of blogging monarch. I would rather have my blog be famous after I died since it would then have a more lasting affect on the world. My goal in life is to kind of influence the world in some way or help people during my life, so having a blog that is kind of the resonance of my life would be super cool and kind of fulfill my dream =)

My Nominations

  • Ethereal Crystal – A phan with hilarious thoughts about life
  • Plants and Tea – Reading about you rating dogs is truly the funniest…I never thought I’d say that sentence in my life but here I am 😂😂😂
  • Candy– Her writing is AMAZING
  • Selcouth Humans–  2 funny and insightful writers that go by the names Fred and George (clearly they’re Harry Potter fans ^-^)

Aaaaannnnndddddd I’m sorry I know this against thy official rules but I cannot find more people to nominate because

a) I barely know any other blogs

b) majority of the blogs I do follow have already been nominated

c) and the small percent that hasn’t been nominated has over 200 followers

So ya sorry about that but I’m kind of stuck here…

My Questions

Here are my questions for the people I nominated! Some of the questions are just one question but 2 questions about the same thing…

  1. When and why did you start your blog?
  2. Are you in any fandoms? If so, which one(s)?
  3. If, for the rest of your life, you could only read one book, which book would it be? Is that book your favorite?
  4. Do you have a certain place where you like to write or where writing come more naturally to you?
  5. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
  6. Do your friends know that you have a blog?
  7. What is your favorite food? How long do you think you could go eating that one food before you got sick of it (or would you not get tired of it)?
  8. Are you a cat person or a dog person?
  9. What is one characteristic you have that you wish you didn’t have?
  10. What is your taste in music? Or lack of one? =)

Anyways, this has been successful-ish! Hopefully I’ll start blogging more now that I remember this actually exists (probably won’t but still)! For more information about what the Liebster Award is, here is something that can help!

okay byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
